Hillwood History 1949-2013. What has been done in the past is still being done today, and it might never last.

In 1949, Harry S. Truman became president. Color TV was broadcasted and perfected by RCA. What many of you don't know is that a new school was founded called Hillwood Academic Day School. 64 years it's been since it was opened. Our school is based in a house. The house was originally built in 1893. The founder of this school was Mary J. Libra.  She soon started camp Hillwood, located in Muir Woods since 1890. Sadly in 1993, Mrs. Libra passed away and the school was taken over by Mr. Eric Grantz and Mrs. Gayle Grantz, his wife, ever since.

So many things in Hillwood have changed, and yet so many things stayed the same. Many new students have applied to Hillwood and many teachers have joined and were happy to work here. And yet, since 1949 till 2013, the traditions the school had are still being done today.
