Adventures at the Cabin!

Along with the awesomeness of Hillwood itself, there is also the Hillwood Cabin! Yes, you heard me right! Hillwood has its own cabin up in Muir Woods. At the end of each year, there is an overnight there for 4th-8th grade girls and boys. Girls and boys go at different times. Also, there is Hillwood's birthday. We celebrate that at the cabin as well!

When we go to the cabin, we always have barbecue! Lots of people come! Mr. Grantz is usually the one who makes the barbecue! Yum yum! Children enjoy catching salamanders in the creek near by.

"I like going to the cabin because I get to spend time with my friends, and we have lots of fun creating movies and using our imaginations!" says 5th grader Mia L.

On the overnight, we get cinnamon roles and hot cocoa! Students enjoy them very much for they are homemade by Mrs. Grantz!

"It's very delicious and fun to eat in the morning, because it's so cold!" says 6th grader Asiana D.

Last year, the girls made a horror movie at the cabin called Rosy Posy.

"It's a very fun experience because we are away from home," says Asiana.

"It's a very good chance to connect with the outdoors," adds 8th grader Anya J.

We also take long hikes during our fun time at the cabin. Some children don't want to join after experiencing the wrath of long trails. Others still go.

"Sometimes it's very tiring, but I still go every single time. The main reason is probably that I forget how much I suffered last time and go yet again." says 8th grader Rubina H.

The cabin is a very fun place for us!
