President's Day

President's Day is a holiday celebrated by people all over America. It is going to be on February 20th, and is always on the the third Monday of February. It is also sometimes called Washington's Birthday.

George Washington was born on February 11th 1731. It always fall between the 11th and the 22nd. Even though it always falls around Washington's birthday, people celebrate all of the presidents, considering Washington was the first president of the United States. Some people also mainly celebrate Abraham Lincoln.

President's Day has become popular for being a day where stores and car dealers hold sales. Up until the late 1980s, people have closed their stores a lot. Another tradition is that most schools will close through out the entire week instead of just one day, but some schools still stay open through the week.

I think that it's good that we have a day to celebrate the presidents. I think it's a good idea to celebrate it around Washington's birthday.
