Recently, a dog named Eddie was attacked by a coyote. Eddie is a 3-year-old Bichon Frise. Eddie was attacked at Stern Grove, a park in San Francisco.
Eddie's owner said that Eddie was taken by four to five coyotes and was shaken for a while. Eddie's owner chased the coyotes and eventually the coyotes dropped Eddie. Eddie was rushed to the a 24-hour animal hospital on 9th Avenue in the Inner Sunset.
The vet said that Eddie will most likely survive but will have minor injuries in his rib from where the coyotes bit him. Eddie will hopefully be able to leave the hospital in a week or so.
Since people have heard about the incident they have been putting up signs about coyotes. There have even been classes given about how to protect your dog if it got attacked by a coyote. Scientists believe that the drought is affecting the animals the coyotes eat, because the animals they eat are dying.
