Minecraft as a Classroom Subject? Sweet!

Have you heard of the popular game Minecraft? Well, if you had, you would know that in Minecraft you build and create anything YOU want. In Minecraft you start out in a world by yourself and explore and make sure to make a house before night. The other think about Minecraft is that everything is square.

Now that you know about Minecraft, I can tell you the news. In Sweden they are adding Minecraft class to their national school curriculum. The reason that there doing this is because they say it helps kids learn math and science. Minecraft is not a permanent subject yet but they are thinking about making it permanent.

Below is a video with this story's authors, Finn and Kasama, talking about the new Swedish curriculum. Kasama also highlights what the Hillwood uppergraders have been doing with Mindcraft in math class.
