Tattoos are a great way for express yourself, just like how some people use clothing or makeup to show their inner feelings. They are a piece of art that you can leave permentaly on your body to remember a certain time in your life, a certain memory, or just to please the eye when you see it. Every tattoo is almost always different whether it be the color, placement, etc. etc. Not only can they be for pleasure but they can also cover a bad memory, for example, if you has self harm scars, or a burn mark from a bad time, you can use tattoos to help cover the scar and move on with your life.
Although there are many pros, there are also many cons. One being the fear/risk of infection. There's many horror stories about infections, or allergic reactions that have driven many people from getting a tattoo. Also the availability to minors can be worrying. Many teenagers get tattoos to fit in or be "cool" although they regret it later in their life and are forced to live with the, most likely, badly
done tattoo, for the rest of their lives, or go through painstakingly expensive laser treatment to get it removed. Fading can also be a problem. Imagine spending $500 on getting the initial tattoo, but then being forced a couple years down the road to spend another couple hundred to get it fixed. If you're a squeamish person, or sensitive to pain, you would want a more of "one and done" tattoo although in many cases that doesn't happen.
Overall there are many pros and cons to tattoos. I think it mostly depends on the person and their own beliefs. Although if someone is thinking of getting a tattoo they should be fully educated on both the risks, and benefits before getting tatted.
