RADIO HILLWOOD!

Have you ever been in a situation where all of your favorite radio-stations are playing non-stop commercials? Yea, no, neither have I, but anyways, there is another bigger, badder radio station that has come to town. Say hello to the commercial free radio-station "Radio Hillwood."

Yep, you heard it, no commercials. Radio Hillwood is powered by Songza, a website that allows you to create your own radio station to listen to, and you have a choice of over 8,000,00 to choose for your station. You can also listen to other radio stations for something new.

In 2002, an internet radio site was created. It was called "last.fm." It claims to have over 30 million users in more than 200 countries. It uses a system called audioscobbbler.

Last.fm lets you pick out artists that you like and compares similar artists and chooses a bunch of songs to create a radio playlist.

Internet radio is exactly what it sounds like. It streams music throughout the internet on websites like last.fm and others.

I think last.fm is pretty cool because it creates a good radio playlist for songs and I am going to use it in the future.

We now have Radio Hillwood, and you can play the roll of Hillwood_DJ. 

As great as the invention of the iPod has been, sometimes we forget just how pleasurable it is to listen to the radio. With the Web site Songza, you get to have the best of both worlds, as you can program your very own show, and listen to your friends’ stations, too—all for free.

It’s remarkably easy to set up: Simply sign in, and you can begin picking from Songza’s (rather impressive) 8,000,000 song choices. But if you are feeling a little bit more adventurous and ready to stray from your own playlist, you can collaborate or listen in with friends or co-workers or even strangers. The site suggests other people’s playlists , and, perhaps best of all, you can see what songs are queued up to play next, so unlike regular radio stations, there can be no disappointing surprises.
