Leonardo da Vinci’s mother

Ok so basically what I have read was that she was a poor peasant girl named Caterina di Meo Lippi. She was an orphan living with her grandmother in a small house.  She gave birth to him at age 15 near the village of Vinci about 25 miles west of Florence. When Leo was born he was an illegitimate son because his parents were actually never married.

Leo’s father was Ser Piero da Vinci and got her pregnant at age 25. It is said that he was a lawyer working in Florence. When he was born his father took Leo and brought him up in the house of his his grandfather. And by my art teacher I am told she was given a certain amount of money to go away or something. It says on this article that Leo’s father was due to get married to someone else and Caterina was due to get married to a farmer.
