San Fransico Giants News

The San Fransico Giants home opening day is being played today at Oracle Park. Unfortunately, there is a possibility of the game being rained out. With the temperature at 50 degrees and the weather overcast and raining. The game is scheduled to start at 1:35pm and gates will open at 11:05 regardless of the weather.

Yesterday the Giants played the Los Angeles Dodgers. Unfortunately, they lost 5-3 despite Brandon Belt's 2 run home run. On top of this loss, the Giants lost 2-3 games in the series. This topped off their road trip with a 2-5 losing record. The starting pitcher, Holland, left the game, with the lead, after only giving up one run. After he left the only offense they generated was Brandon Belt's 2 run home run. Sadly the Giant's bullpen couldn't hold the lead and lost it in the eighth inning. This was due to the Dodger's Chris Taylor's RBI double. To close out the series the Dodger's pitchers retired the Giants final 14 batters.

In other news, the Giants top prospect, Joey Bart, recorded two RBI singles that led to the Triple-A team to the win. In the catcher's performance, he went 2-4 in the game scoring a run in the process. Defensively he played well not recording an error.

The last piece of news is that the Giants traded Kevin Pillar so they could keep Steven Duggar in center field. While Steven Duggar was injured he dove without an issue. This happened after the 25-year-olds surgery for his torn labrum in his left shoulder. After diving, he said he felt good and was relieved to get his first dive out of the way.
