A Look at the President's Mail

Student Assignment:
Lance Y.

In a five-minute-plus video created by the White House press department, we get to see the behind-the-scenes process of choosing the 10 pieces of mail from the public President Obama reads every day, a practice he started within his first week of office. This is not as easy as it may sound, as 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue receives 65,000 letters a week, not to mention 100,000 emails and thousands of phone calls per day.

For your assignment, tell people about the video in at least five sentences. Remember to answer the five W's in doing this.
  • Who
  • What
  • When
  • Where
  • Why
Other questions to consider:
  • Do you think the president is getting a lot more mail because of his address to students?
  • What would you like to write to the President?
Embed the Presidential video in your blog post.
