Causes of War
By Reina M Mei
War is no trivial matter, no matter how one looks at it. So it is important to question and understand the history behind the conflict, so that we may insure it does not repeat. After all, there are no winners in war.The five most common causes of war are as fallows;
- Economic Gain. Often wars are caused by one country's wish to take control of another country's wealth.
- Territorial Gain. It is human nature to hoard.
- Religion. Enough said.
- Nationalism. Racism, in other words.
Other notable reasons are revenge, because human just have to share their pain. Revolutionary wars are also a very touchy subject, and civil wars. When everyone says, I'm a ________, and you're a ________, but we share radically different views on ________. We all must have the same views on ________.
However, no war is caused for one reason, and in history you will find that many of these reasons bleed into each other.

Economic and territorial gain line up together in many ways. Perhaps a territory can hold resources, like when the Britains took control of Norway in WW2. These reasons could also play a big part in poverty countries. Taking control of territory, or aligning with another party for economic gain after a war was won, could help them prosper. These countries have been pushed so far down that they feel they can't even ask for help. Or maybe, it's just that no one would help them.
Religion, like the holy wars between the Europeans and Arabs, were an incredibly large threat of war a few centuries ago. Since then, thanks to people's increasing awareness of other religeons, humans as a whole have cooled down a bit. (And maybe, just maybe, we have learned to respect other's opinions, and not push our views on others. I don't know, it's not impossible. Maybe.)
The world of science also should be thanked. Thank you science!
Racism is such a horrible, horrible thing. You can be biased, every body is, but don't let it get to that point. Don't act on it.
Just don't.
Well this has been fun, have a nice day.
